David M. Rosenberg, President
Young Israel of West Rogers Park wishes its members and friends a Shabbat Shalom!
Mazal Tov to Past-President Jonathan and Tamar Miller on the engagement of their daughter Shoshana to Pinchus Mayer of Neve Daniel.
Young Israel acknowledges with sadness the recent passing of Mark L. Cohen a”h, former member of the shul.
From Rabbi Prero:
I encourage all who are able to attend the program on the mitzvah of loving the convert, Ahavat HaGer, this Sunday, April 22 at 8:00pm at Kehillat Chovevei Tzion, 9220 Crawford Ave., Skokie, Il 60076. Details are on the attached flyer.
By way of background, the mitzvah to love the ger appears 48 times in the Torah. There are various types of preparedness and anxiety that attend a conversion, both before and after a conversion. As a community, we address some better than others. This program will focus on how we as individuals and as a community can best fulfill this important aspect of our service of G-d.
