Please note that mincha/kabbalat shabbat will begin at 10 minutes after candle-lighting time for the next 4 Friday evenings (Mattot-Mas'ei, Devarim/Chazon, Vaetchanan/Nachamu, Eikev).

Kiddush, Simchas and Events

Thank you to Rebbetzin Prero for preparing cholent for kiddush this shabbat, as in many weeks past!

Thank you to those who help by purchasing supplies, setting up, or cleaning up for Kiddushim and Seudah Shelishit.

Our next Musical Café with evën sh’siyah will take place on Motzaei Shabat Nachamu, Saturday night, August 4, at 10:00 PM.  Look out for flyers and more information!

Shiurim (classes)

Unless otherwise specified, shiurim and classes take place in the Arthur & Sally Dordek Library at Young Israel. All are welcome to participate in any of the shiurim.

  • Rabbi Prero's shiur on Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik's sefer, Al Hateshuva, On Repentence, will meet on Monday, July 24th, at 8:15pm.

Maot Chitim of Greater Chicago Needs Your Help
Maot Chitim of Greater Chicago provides food to members of the Jewish community so that they may celebrate the Jewish holidays with dignity. We are getting ready for our 2017 Rosh Hashanah Delivery. We invite you to join us!

Save the Dates:
We will be packing the non-perishable items on Sunday, September 10th.
Our delivery will take place on Sunday, September 17th.
We need volunteers for both dates. Our warehouse location will be announced soon. Please check the Maot Chitim website for updates as we get closer to the holiday.

There is an AA meeting at YIWRP every Tuesday from 7:30-8:30pm. it is a beginners meeting and open to those interested in recovering from alcholism.
